Cookies and Cream

We had a relaxing Father's Day overall. Church, lunch with friends, and relaxing at home. Actually, Steve didn't relax too much because he was busy hanging pictures in the family room, master bedroom, and bonus room upstairs. I think hanging pictures is one of our least favorite things to do, even though we definitely appreciate the end result. It would be a lot easier of course, if our series of 3 picture frames had hooks that were actually the same on the back- lesson learned, go for better quality frames. At least we won't have to hang them again for a few more years.
Christian decided to begin crawling yesterday for Father's Day- just a few leg/arm movements but he is becoming more and more bold, and really enjoys being able to get his little hands on toys and various other things that were out of his reach before. Guess it's time to begin looking into baby-proofing?
Christian and I also made these delicious cupcakes for Steve on Saturday. Steve loves white cake, Oreos, and frosting so these were perfect. I might add that they were a.maz.ing! Steve's favorite dessert that I make is apple crisp, but he said these may just change that! (No we did not eat them all, even though we may have wanted to. We shared some with neighbors.)

We were sad to not be with our Dads for Father's Day- I think that birthdays and holidays always make us that much more homesick for Colorado and our families. But it also makes us cling tighter to each other and our heavenly Father. What better daddy do we have than the one that loves us unconditionally and sacrificed his Son for us?

Such a sweet post...I am sad, too, that you were not here for Father's day (or the other events of the weekend), but we definantly thought about you guys.
