Christmas Decorating 2013

Steve would like to start decorating for Christmas around Halloween, maybe even before. But with this cold, wintry Colorado weather and snow on the ground, I gave in and decided it was okay to decorate before Thanksgiving this year. (Side note: So exciting to think that we will be able to celebrate BOTH Thanksgiving and Christmas with our families in COLORADO (woot!) this year!) Christian loves to decorate too, and because I wanted both big boys to help, the decorating has turned into several days. We STILL are not quite done. We have enjoyed kicking off the Christmas season by listening to Christmas music, and I even made some minty-delicious Christmas cookies (hey- I had to try out the recipe,) most importantly it has been fun doing it together.

This is how Noah helped this year. ;o)

Noah is 6 Weeks

Just a short 6 week Noah update. Noah is already outgrowing some 3 month clothing length-wise (like his pajamas and footed one-pieces.) He must be a long little guy. He is also beginning to intentionally smile and makes sweet cooing sounds. We are loving this sweet little addition. Both Christian and Lucas often give kisses atop Noah's head, and Lucas lovingly calls him,  "Baby" and "No-Nah." Looking at these photos, it's amazing how much Noah has changed and grown in a short 6 weeks!

Lucas at about 6 Weeks

30th Birthday Celebrations

On the Saturday before the week of my birthday, Steve's parents came up to Fort Collins to spend the afternoon with us and to celebrate my birthday- the Big 3-0! We enjoyed a delicious lunch at the Macaroni Grill (I think the last time we went to one was when we lived at Edwards AFB in California.) And then enjoyed a relaxing afternoon together. Of course, there were lots of Noah snuggles all around. :o)

On the morning of my birthday my boys (all 4!) surprised me with Starbucks and flowers, and then in the evening Steve surprised me again with babysitters so that he and I could enjoy dinner at the amazing Cafe Vino.

On Saturday we went down to my parent's house and enjoyed a special birthday breakfast, a little mall shopping, and then my parents and sister-in-law arranged for babysitters so that the 6 of us adults could go to the Cheesecake Factory sans kiddos. So nice to have uninterrupted adult conversation. (Noah kindly slept through dinner.)

My mom jokes that I like to extend my birthday celebrations throughout the week, which has probably been true a lot of years. :o) I would like to thank everyone who made my 30th Birthday so special! I am looking forward to whatever new adventures the next decade has to offer!

Beep Beep!

Can I just say, thank goodness for these car attachments on the grocery store shopping carts! How else would I keep all three boys contained?

Noah is 1 Month

Today Noah had a 1-month checkup. He weighed 9 lbs, 1 oz putting him in the 12th percentile, and was 22 inches long putting him in the 38th percentile for baby boys his age. He continues to be a sweet little guy. Noah is becoming more and more alert during the day, and has been sleeping longer stretches at night (5+ hours) even since last week!

Noah is 4 Weeks

Somehow 4 weeks have already passed. It seems like I was just at the hospital having Noah. Noah has been a sweet little baby, dare I say, fairly "easy." He is still waking 2 times at night, but is usually fairly predictable. I have him on a feeding schedule, and am hoping some routine will translate to longer sleep at night (soon.) He is a good little eater, and gets the hiccups often. He also snores! He currently has light brown hair (Lucas did too, but it obviously didn't stay that way) and blue/gray eyes. I am enjoying baby snuggles when I can get them, but they are a little more rare as I have to tend to big brothers. Noah's favorite thing right now is sleeping, eating, and intently studying faces. He recently outgrew his first newborn sized sleeper, and is mostly wearing 0-3 month clothing. He also just switched to a size 1 diaper. Next week Noah will have a 1 month checkup; looking forward to seeing how much he has grown!
